Photographs and Memorabilia of Elmwood Park Resident and Former Professional Boxer Chester Mieszala are on Display at the Library

The Elm Leaves recently published a story about Elmwood Park resident Chester Mieszala. Chester is a professional former boxer who fought against several boxing legends in the 1950’s including Heavyweight Champion Floyd Patterson. Chester retired from boxing in 1957 and moved to Elmwood Park where he and his wife Bernice have lived ever since.

Chester has lent memorabilia from his time in the ring, including photos, gloves, and his robe to the Library. The items will be on display in the main lobby throughout the month. You can read the article about Chester from the Elm Leaves by clicking here
